We are deeply saddened by the earthquakes which caused devastating damage in 10 cities across our country.
As Zer, with our best efforts using the coordination of Koç Holding and with the cooperation of AFAD, KIZILAY, and local authorities, we immediately took action upon news of the earthquake to support the disaster victims.
We worked to supply the necessary products to the area on 6 February 2023.
In addition to these products, we supplied product and logistical support from our Koç Companies and business partners from different hubs with all available means in logistics and equipment.
One of our lorries departed from Ankara loaded with the most necessary products, such as generators, blankets, heaters, sanitary pads, and diapers. Another one of the lorries carrying a total of 90 thousand bottles of drinking water departed from Istanbul, while another set off from Adana.
The products in our lorries, which arrived at Adana Air Base, were transferred to Hatay Kırıkhan district by helicopters with the support of AFAD authorities.
Our other lorry, which set off from Istanbul, with DFDS Pergamon Seaways RO-RO ship, departed from Pendik port and arrived in Iskenderun port. The lorry arrived in Hatay Kırıkhan, and generators, heaters, and hygiene packs were distributed with the support of AFAD.
At the same time, we transported a team of 30 of our people along with catering equipment to provide catering services both as stationary in Hatay Kırıkhan and mobile in the city center. Our catering service in the area started on 8 February 2023, and we have provided 10 thousand meals and provisions since.
On 12 February 2023, we transported portable toilets, with the support of TCL Electronics Turkey, to the living space created with the coordination of AFAD in Hatay Kırıkhan Stadium. We will be responsible for maintaining hygienic conditions for the living space with non-stop sewage truck support, 2 cleaning staff members, and one organizer.
Also, Arçelik provided a cleaning truck with washing and dryer machines to Hatay Kırıkhan Satadium. Thanks to our catering service (with the support of Bilkom, Ingage, KoçFinans, Otokar, Setur Marinas, Türk Traktör, and WAT Motor companies), cleaning truck provided by Arçelik with washer and dryer machines, and portable toilets provided by Bilkom – TCL Electronics Turkey, we aim to improve the living conditions of our citizens in the disaster together.
We extend our gratitude to our suppliers who supported our aid efforts, our logistics suppliers who transported our aid equipment and products to the area and our Koçfinans, Ingage, and Koç Yaşa Çok Yaşa companies. Due to these donations, we were able to reach far more people.
We express our sincerest gratitude to Bilkom, Ingage, Koçfinans, Otokar, Setur Marinas, Türk Traktör, and WAT Motor, who donated in order to support our stationery catering services in Hatay Kırıkhan and mobile catering services in the city center.
We will continue to follow the needs in the disaster area closely and provide our support in unity and solidarity.
